Edith White
Edith White was born in Decorah, Iowa in 1855 and with her family, was an early settler in California arriving in 1859. White studied at Mills College in Oakland, the School of Design in San Francisco and the Art Students League in New York. She was an active member of the southern California art community establishing studios in Los Angeles and Pasadena. In her later years she moved to Berkeley, California where she remained an active artist until her death in 1946. She is best remembered for her decorative landscapes and floral still lifes.
