Born in Bedford, Iowa, Clyde Scott studied at the Boston Art School prior to moving west to Mill Valley and ultimately Los Angeles, where he was inspired by the topography and elements of California’s many micro-climates. In Scott’s paintings, one quickly recognizes the artist’s faith in utilizing the essences of the elements of nature and the landscape to create a compositional whole. His works show a truly masterful blend of pattern, form, and the atmospheric light of California.
